POSTED: January 9, 2012 Position Available Family Practice Opportunity in Port Saint Lucie, Florida Well established state of the art, innovative practice setting. Paperless office with implemented EMR (eClinicalWorks) with patient portal, remote access, and working towards Medical Home Certification. Pleasant work environment with most staff members employed for 5-17 years. Flexible work schedule available, with a 4 day work week, only one in 6 Saturdays from 9-12. Minimal to no call. If additional earnings are desired: opportunity for house calls, or nursing home work, although not currently part of the work structure. Hospitalists currently handle admissions. Practice focuses on preventive coordinated care and health maintenance with comprehensive diagnostic and other services on site which include: Lab, Ultrasound and echocardiography, PFT, DEXA, Hearing Testing, Allergy testing and treatment. We take time with our patients and pride ourselves in COMPLETE and thorough examinations. This is currently NOT an urgent care facility, although we do provide many urgent care types of services such as IV fluids and suturing. Our Medical Team and staff includes: Myself (Board Certified Osteopathic Family Physician who utilizes OMT), Board Certified Family Physician, Part-time dermatologist, 2 Physician Assistants, a Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapist, Massage Therapist and a retired RN who manages our Ideal Protein Diet program. Although this is listed as a Family Practice opportunity, we do not see children under 7, or pregnant patients. Many of our patients do tend to have multiple and complex medical conditions, such as what you would expect in an Internal Medicine practice, but are typically still active and are very rarely admitted to the hospital. The patient mix is approximately: 25% Medicare, 65% BCBS and other private insurers such as Aetna, United, Cigna, 5% HMO and 5% uninsured. No Medicaid. I am looking for someone who: #1: is friendly, outgoing, loves the work they do and truly CARES for patients, #2: works well as a TEAM member, gets along well with others and treats staff and patients respectfully, #3: an innovative worker with new ideas and motivation to make the work and patient care better, more efficient, and more profitable, #4: prefers a smaller practice where innovative ideas can be implemented without going through large corporate red tape. #5: Utilizes Osteopathic Philosophy and Treatment in patient care. #6: Bilingual/Spanish would be a plus. Compensation is fair and can be significantly higher with additional opportunities, if you want to work for it. If you prefer a lighter work load and flexibility to spend more time outside of work this can be accommodated as well. Your involvement in practice management is also flexible as some physicians are very interested and others are not. The community offers beautiful beaches and rivers with boating and fishing opportunities, excellent golf and tennis clubs (PGA), spring training site for the METS, and is only one hour away from West Palm Beach and less than 2 hours from Orlando.
