American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service

The College participates in the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) for the receipt and processing of all applications. AACOMAS takes no part in the selection of students.

To start the application process, please visit the AACOMAS web site: https://aacomas.aacom.org/

AACOMAS application packets may be obtained from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in person, or by writing directly to:

AACOMAS
(301) 968-4190

Listed below are the steps necessary to complete applications before they can be reviewed by the Committee on Admissions.

  1. The applicant must mail the following materials to AACOMAS by February 1st:

    • Completed and approved AACOMAS application

    • An official transcript from the Registrar of each college or university attended. This must be mailed directly to AACOMAS by the college or university.

    • MCAT scores

  2. The following supplemental application materials must be received by the College by March 1:

    • A supplemental application, which will be accessible AFTER completion of the AACOMAS application is received by NSU-COM. Please make note, it takes approximately 4 -6 weeks for NSU-COM to receive the AACOMAS application.

    • A non-refundable application fee will be required when completing the NSU online application.

    • A letter of evaluation from the pre-professional committee, or, if such a committee does not exist, then three letters of evaluation: two from science professors, and one from a liberal arts professor

Interview

A personal interview is a part of the admission process; however, being interviewed is not a guarantee of admission. Not all applicants will be granted an interview. Those selected for an interview will be notified of the date and time of such interview by the Office of Admissions.

Notice of acceptance or action by the Committee on Admissions will be on a "rolling" or periodic schedule; therefore, early completion of the application is in the best interest of the student. Students may check on the status of their application online through the NSU online application system.

Transcripts

After acceptance, final transcripts, covering all of the applicant’s work, must be forwarded to the Office of Admissions prior to matriculation. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that arrangements are made for these transcripts to be sent.
