Broward General Medical Center is one of four hospitals that comprise The North Broward Hospital District (NBHD) and serves as the educational center for the osteopathic internship and family medicine and dermatology residencies.

The NBHD is a 1567-bed tax assisted health care system - the fourth largest in the nation - that also operates 30 freestanding clinics and provides home health and infusion services in the northern two - thirds of Broward County. The District hospitals are the site of a College of Osteopathic Medicine Family Medicine and Dermatology residency programs, established after a 1993 University/District affiliation agreement. In addition, the District is approved to train 100 third-year and fourth-year NSU-COM students.

Postgraduate Programs

Family Medicine Residency & Traditional Internships - approved for 36 postgraduate intern and resident training slots.

  • Annual Stipend:
    Traditional Internships: $38,500
    OGME2 $40,000
    OGME3 $42,000

  • Dermatology Residency - approved for 6 intern and resident training slots.
    Annual Stipend:
    OGME1 $10,000
    OGME2 $12,500
    OGME3: $15,000
