Miami Children’s Hospital is the only independent, not-for-profit pediatric teaching hospital in South Florida, with 268 pediatric beds and treats more than 180,000 patients annually.  It has more than 650 pediatricians and pediatric sub-specialists on staff and houses the only freestanding pediatric center in the state of Florida.  In addition, it is the only pediatric hospital in South Florida with six centers of excellence, including an international Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Center with its own Pediatric Catherization laboratory; Hematology and Oncology, Neonatology, Neuroscience and Neurosurgery, Pulmonary Medicine, and Preventive Medicine.  In addition, Miami Children’s Hospital is approved to train 48 third-year NSU-COM students.

Tracked Pediatric Internship and Residency:
approved for 2 first year training slots and for 4 postgraduate resident training slots. (2+2+2)

Resident Selection Process:
Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited AOA medical school.  All first year pediatric residency positions are offered through the AOA National Matching Service, Inc.  Applications received through ERAS are reviewed by the Pediatric Residency Interview Selection Committee and selected based on the applicant’s academic performance, letters of recommendation, and other components of the application (e.g., personal statement).  

Applicants are invited for interviews and interviewed by four (4) physicians.  Based on the interview, selected applicants are placed into the Match.
